Ajoke Ehimiyein, a Nigerian trained veterinarian, graduated from University of Ibadan in 2002. Worked at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as a lecturer, clinician and researcher. I had the opportunity to do my MSc research at the CDC, Rabies Section, Atlanta in 2009 where I worked on evaluation of the different diagnostic techniques use for rabies diagnosis especially for use in Nigeria. My PhD was on therapeutic intervention including antioxidant in the treatment of canine babesiosis. Had her MSc and PhD from ABU, Zaria and a post-doc at the University of Edinburgh (TIBA), a collaboration with African Academy of Science. I was opportune to be one of the five to be selected from Africa for TIBA post doc study to help tackle some diseases affecting Africa. I worked on histopathology affecting intestinal mucosae of rat infected with malaria parasite. Currently working with CRL as a Senior Scientist/Study director in General Toxicology, Safety Assessment, Charles River Laboratories where I lead the African Ancestry Employee Resource Group. I’m passionate about science and solving health related issues affecting humans and animals.
